Here at Wild Things working with families is one of our core services that we offer. Many families want to spend more time outdoors in nature with their children but are unsure of where to go, what to do and even if its safe or not.
Our family events are specially designed to introduce families to the ideas and concepts behind forest school, a chance to chat to staff about local green spaces that are family friendly and what are the activities you can do at them.
At all family events we will have a variety of activities on offer for families to try with the help and guidance of our trained staff. These can include whittling, simple rope swings, making fires and cooking on the fire or making warm drinks.
We will also have the mud kitchen, hammocks, den building and many other activities set up for families just to wander around and take part and enjoy for the afternoon.
The sessions are a relaxing way to find out more about woodland activities and meet others in the area who may have the same interests as yourselves. We aim to run family sessions during weekends giving working parents an opportunity to come along and enjoy the woodland with their families too!
So take a look at our ‘What’s On’ calendar and find out when our next family event is taking place.
