Wild Women Forage and Feast
September 19 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm£18
In this Autumnal session of Wild Women we’ll be enjoying the last of the natures bounty before we head into the colder Winter months and we’ll be gathering a wide range of plants and herbs to use as teas, to make smudge sticks and to add to our bread and butter mixes which we’ll cook over the fire towards the end of the workshop.
For our herbal tea’s we’ll gather a range of herbs which can be dried for both medicinal purposes and for their unique flavours and learning how to tie and dry them ready to put into jars at a later date and use.
We’ll introduce the concept of smudging and using herbal smudge sticks to cleanse our home environments which can be a great tool at this time of year to help battles colds and viruses, particularly in our current climate. Many herbs can be used for smudging. Bundles of herbs are gathered together, dried and then burnt within the home when ready to use. Some of the herbs we’ll be looking for include sage, pine, rosemary, cedar and lavender which all give off a lovely burning scent and have detoxification properties that can be utilised.
Finally we’ll be celebrating the equinox by looking at ways to bake bread over an open fire and make butter and vegan spreads using our foraged herbs to enjoy towards the end of the sessions. All mixed together with a dose of bush craft, a seasonal meditation and a generous serving of nature connection this will be relaxing and enjoyable session in the woods. Come along and join us, we’re always happy to welcome new faces to our gatherings.
