Iron Age and Forging Workshop

February 16 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

iron age activities

This event is now fully booked.

Welcome to our Iron Age Fort!

In this session we will be looking at all things Iron Age and children will get the exciting opportunity to have a go at forging Iron from a variety of natural materials.

We will also make willow swords and children will get the opportunity to decorate their swords with a traditional Celtic Hilt made with clay or salt dough, that we will bake over the fire for children to take home and paint.

As part of the Iron Age Fort we’ll also be cooking up some Honey Griddle Cakes over the fire and children can try some nettle tea (tastes better than it sounds!).

As well as all the Iron Age fun we’ll have all our usual woodland activities set up including;

  • Rope slide
  • Mud kitchen
  • Hammocks
  • Tree swing
  • Woodland games
