Introduction to Spoon Carving

May 18 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

£20 - £30

With new concessions option of £20 per session!

Once again we are excited to be offering our Introduction to Spoon Carving event at Carmichael Estate woodland on Saturday May 18th from 1-5pm.  This event is open to everybody with little or no previous experience at spoon carving.  It is also suitable for those who may have attended previous workshops and would like to gain more skills and knowledge spoon carving.

During this session you will learn how to mark and axe out your spoon or spatula and then use a crook knife and whittling knife to finely tune your design.

Our tutor for the afternoon is Davy Coats, an experienced wood worker with many years of creating spoons, bowls and furniture behind him. On the day he will bring along some of his work for everyone to have a look at and then guide us all through the process of making their first spoon, which is a relaxing and fulfilling experience.

The session will last 4 hours and warm drinks and refreshments will be provided around our campfire area where we will be working.

This session will be held at Carmichael Estate Woodland situated 5 miles from Biggar.

Tickets for this event are £30 and are available here.  We are also pleased to announce that we now have a new concessions rate for individuals living on or below the living wage.
