Children’s Simple Spoons Workshop
June 6 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm£15
As part of our themed workshops for children this year, we are running a ‘Children’s Simple Spoons’ workshop on Saturday 6th June @ Carmichael Estate.
In this 3 hour workshop we shall look for appropriate branches within the woodland to split and make into simple spoons or spatulas to take home. We will be working with a range of tools including mallets, saws, wood-carving knives and crook knives to create a simple spoon for your child to take home.
Green woodworking is a great activity for children to become involved with as it not only gives children a great sense of feeling connected to nature but also gives a great sense of achievement when creating an object that can be used, from what the woodland has to offer.
The workshop is 3 hours long to allow the children the time necessary to complete their work. We will stop for a short break around 12noon, so please bring a light packed lunch to eat around the camp fire.
This session will be held at Carmichael Estate Woodland situated 5 miles from Biggar.
Tickets for this event are £15 and are available here:
